23. Sarnoff, David

David Sarnoff was an American businessman, radio pioneer, and telecommunication kingpin. Sarnoff saw radio differently than many, rather than point-to-point communication, he envisioned a point-to-mass system where one broadcaster would have many listeners. He founded the Radio Corporation of America, or RCA as it is commonly known, and the company purchased its first radio station in 1926. Throughout his life he ruled over a media empire that dominated an ever-growing entertainment, telecommunications, and consumer electronics market, heading both RCA and NBC television until the time of his death.
