100 Entrepreneurs Who Changed The World
12. Steve Jobs 1955-2011
“Everyone here has the sense that right now is one of those moments when we are influencing the future.”
Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur, business magnate, and inventor. He is remembered as the charismatic and brilliant cofounder and CEO of Apple Inc., a company through which he pioneered the personal computer revolution. Many are unaware Jobs actually left in Apple in 1985 and pursued various other projects, including funding of Pixar Animation Studios. Apple’s failures in the 90’s brought Jobs back, first in the capacity of an advisor. Soon Jobs was CEO again and helped to put Apple back on the path to greatness, launching powerhouse products such as the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. To this day Apple is one of the most dominant companies in the personal computer and personal device markets. Tragically, Jobs died at the young age of 56, and the world mourned the loss of one of its brightest minds.
