“I think baking cookies is equal to Queen Victoria running an empire. There’s no difference in how seriously you take the job, how seriously you approach your whole life.”

Martha Stewart is an American businesswoman, entrepreneur, and all-around media, publishing, broadcasting, and merchandizing mogul. She is the queen of electronic commerce, as well as the publisher of the widely popular magazine Martha Stewart Living. She hosted two long-running television shows, Martha, from 2005-2012, and Martha Stewart Living, from 1993-2005. Martha made wholesome her brand marque and was the idol of mothers and house makers across the United States. She sold the modern house maker image and she did it very well. From clothing lines to cook books, Martha’s name was on nearly everything a house maker could want. In 2004, she was convicted of insider trading and many speculated it was the end of her empire. Martha rebounded, however, and returned her name and company to profitability in a short time.
