Open Winfrey is an American media tycoon, talk-show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. Oprah has been dubbed the “Queen of all media,” and is one of the wealthiest Americans alive. She is best known for her multi-award winning television talk-show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. She has been called one of the most of influential people in the world and has received a host of honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, presented to her by President Obama in 2013. She is widely credited with having created the confessional media communication, and she revolutionized the tabloid talk-show. In the 1990’s she reformatted her show to be more focused on self-improvement.
