20 Financial Considerations for Retirement
11. Should You Work?
For most Americans, one of the major financial considerations for retirement is if one should work or not. Current studies show that most people want to work at least in a part-time capacity once retired. Although for many this is due to their financial situation, for others it is simply to continue to have something meaningful to do once they are done with full time work and to have a place away from home that they feel like they belong and have a daily structure. The more money that one makes in retirement, the less that must be withdrawn from the retirement savings. No matter what, putting some thought into the work or not work decision is a big one that should not be taken lightly.
