The oil company was first founded in 1870 and is the largest publicly traded, integrated oil conglomerate. ExxonMobil has  more than 30,000 oil and gas wells on six different continents, and focuses on three business segments: downstream refining, specialty chemicals, and upstream oil and gas production. Based on the large scale of the company, Exxon is able to drive costs down that help leverage profits in the commodities market, and has paid a quarterly dividend since 1882.
