10. Consolidate Key Financial Documents

No matter how old one is, a key money management tip is to consolidate all of one’s key financial documents in a central location. These include but are not limited to one’s Social Security card, birth certificate, and other official identification. Then, keeping a comprehensive listing of one’s bank accounts, bills, insurance policies, investment accounts, and all required logins and passwords is key to not only keeping your finances straight, but in the event of your untimely demise or severe injury will help your family sort out everything when you are not around or unable to do so. Some additional key documents to consider adding to the mix include one’s automobile registration, house or apartment lease, mortgage, and anything else of financial significance.
