Taxes- Americans don’t like taxes very much, but that doesn’t stop them from having to pay them. And there are a lot! There are payroll taxes, income taxes, property taxes, car taxes, sales taxes, luxury taxes, inheritance taxes, gift taxes, and more! When Americans buy a product at a store, they pay a sales tax—even though that item has already been taxed several times during the manufacturing and shipping processes. If you include all these taxes, top income earners in the US pay over 50% of their incomes to one tax or another. Of course that money is sucked out of the private sector where it would generate returns and create jobs and flushed down the public sector toilet of crony connections, wasteful spending, and corporate welfare.
