I realized something the other day: Every president in my life time has had one defining, bold-faced lie that has lived in infamy. To be fair, it could be said that these were far from their only lies. But none the less, these are the most iconic, most infamously known lies from the past five US Presidents.

Reagan’s biggest scandal is undoubtedly the Iran-Contra Affair. When allegations of illegally trading arms for prisoners surfaced, Reagan vehemently denied them. When facts came to light proving otherwise, Reagan had to confess to the American public that what he had told them was false.
