6. Cell Phone Contracts

These days most everyone owns a cell phone, whether it be for emergencies or “as” their only means of phone communication. Cell phone companies make millions of dollars every year on consumers contracts for service. Contracts are usually two years and offer the use of the carrier’s cell towers. There are now companies that do not require any contracts and use the very same towers as the big cell phone companies. The cost per month for service is about half of what it costs to have a two year contract. One month of service with one no contract company is $45.00 for unlimited text, talk, and 5GB of high speed data.Just a few years ago part of the consumer’s contract price included technicians to do basic repairs and maintenance. The cell phone companies have eliminated that service but not reduced the contract pricing.
